Nevada Humanities, Books and Authors series, presents Khaled Hosseini, author of
The Kite Runner. Dr. Hosseini will give a dynamic presentation at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno on Thursday, March 30th at 7:30 PM.
Hosseini is now a physician in San Jose, California where he rises at 4:00 every morning to pursue his second career as a best-selling author. His powerful debut novel The Kite Runner has been a favorite with book clubs and has been on the bestsellers’ list since 2003. His next novel, Dreaming in Titanic City, is also set in Afghanistan, and will be released in the summer of 2006.
No admission fee.

The next Legislative Committee on Persons with Disabilities meeting is March 8th. At the Legislature in Carson City, room 3138 and the Grant Sawyer State Office Building in Vegas, room 4412.

The issues being discussed currently involve the issues of education for children that are deaf and hard of hearing to include topics about sign language interpreters skill proficiency for the K-12 system, is the public school doing an effective job at teaching d/hh children in this state??
