WNCC MultiCultural Festival   posted by    [General]
The American Sign Language Club and Deaf Studies program at WNCC will be presenting a booth on Deaf Culture for the annual Multicultural Festival. Admission is free, so please come show your support!

WNCC Multicultural Festival Features Music, Dance and Food

The whole family can enjoy a world of dancing, food and exhibits at Western Nevada Community College’s 11th annual Multicultural Festival on Saturday, May 13, at the Carson City campus, 2201 West College Parkway. Admission is free to the festival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Multicultural entertainment will include the Sierra Highlanders playing bagpipes, the Reno Taiko Drummers performing, and dancing from around the world, including country western line dancing, belly dancing, and traditional Aztec dancing.

More than 20 exhibitors will also be on hand offering unique gift items from around the world, arts and crafts, and cultural information.

Kids can get their faces painted at the Children’s Culture Center sponsored by the WNCC United Students Association. Students from WNCC’s Early Childhood Development diversity class will present hands-on activities for young children.

A workshop about how to take care of yourself when you go to the doctor, get medical tests, have surgery, admitted to the hospital, etc.
