Our Annual Tax Workshop

Tax Workshop - February 23rd, 2010, 1pm-3pm

Tax Preparations-
March 3rd, 2010 and March 4th, 2010, 9am – 4pm


Step 1) Bring your questions and concerns to our tax workshop. The workshop will cover the VITA Program, current tax law, effect of credits (Earned Income and Child Tax Credit) on disability eligibility, and what to bring and what to expect at the VITA site.

Step 2) Bring your tax paperwork (required documents listed on back of flyer) to one of the two tax preparation events and have IRS-certified volunteers help you complete and file your tax return right on the spot at no cost to you.

Eligibility

You are eligible for free tax preparation if your annual household income was less than $49,000 in 2009.

Items to Bring to Your Appointment
•Social Security Cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) for you, your spouse, and all of your dependents
•Proof of identification for you and your spouse (photo I.D., driver's license, passport, or other official I.D. card)
•Birth dates for you, your spouse and any dependents you claim
•All wage and earning statements (W-2, 1099-R, etc.)
•Interest/dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
•For itemized deductions, please bring W2’s, 1098 (Mortgage Statement), 1099’s (Dividends, Interests, Misc (self-employed), Student Loan Statement, Property Tax Statement
•Copy of prior year's Federal and State tax returns
•Bank Account Numbers and Routing Numbers for Direct Deposit (a checking or savings account); not a deposit slip
•Total amounts paid to day-care providers, and the provider's Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number
•Any information about other income, deductions, and credits
•If you are filing a joint return, both you and your spouse must be present to sign the return
